February 24th, 2010 was declared by Mayor Ryan McCue to be "Mary Salvatore Day" in the City of Cudahy, Wisconsin. She was presented with a commemorative plaque by the Mayor himself.
Mary and her longtime husband Joseph were owners and proprietors of Sullivan's Cigar Store since the late 1920's until Joseph's passing in 1995. Since then, she has continued to run the store at 4714 S. Packard Avenue, at the very location that it has served the community since 1934.
Truly a Cudahy fixture, Sullivan's has embodied the city's "Generation of Pride" for decades. Few businesses anywhere have been in the same family for such a length of time, much less still operated by the original founders.
Please stop by Sullivan's or call the store on congratulate Mary on her special day. She's the embodiment of the very fabric of Cudahy that makes it such a great place to live.
Mary, we love you!!
