Soulstice Theatre proudly presents Larry Shue’s hilarious comedy, "The Foreigner," from October 29th through November 13th at the Marian Center for Nonprofits in St. Francis.
Winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production, the play is an inspired comic romp that enjoyed a sold-out premiere in Milwaukee before moving on to a long run Off-Broadway. The play demonstrates what can happen when a group of devious characters must deal with a stranger who (they think) knows no English.
“I laughed start to finish at one comic surprise after another.” - The New Yorker
“...a constant invitation to relax and laugh at the foolishness of life...” - Village Voice
Soulstice is the only local theatre company that donates a portion of the box office to a charity whose mission matches the meaning of the show. For "The Foreigner", the donation will be made to Habitat for Humanity, Milwaukee. Habitat transforms lives and our city by providing simple, decent and affordable housing for Milwaukee families in need.
“We are proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity as part of "The Foreigner", to give back to our community,” said Char Manny, director. “This show, like Habitat for Humanity, teaches us to reach out to one another and learn from our differences and similarities.”
"The Foreigner" will feature Al Oldham as Charlie, Randall Anderson as Froggy, Sharon Nieman-Koebert as Betty, Abby Armstrong as Catherine, Jason Thompson as Owen, Aaron Strickler as David, and Joe Krapf as Ellerd. The show is directed by Char Manny and Stage Managed by Katie Weidner.
