Shimeta captures first in junior golf tournament

The Cudahy Recreation Department and Cudahy High School boys golf coach Bill Kujawa ran a six-week junior golf league that culminated with an 18-hole tournament played July 22 and 24.

Steven Shimeta won the tournament, Ian Kabat finished second, Ryan Simerson third and Chase Pendzich fourth.

Jared Weber got a hole-in-one during league play, acing the 164-yard eighth hole with a hybrid.

Cudahy football boosters set fall social for Sept. 13

The Cudahy Football Booster Club will conduct its annual fall social Saturday, Sept. 13, following the afternoon home game against Mauston.

The Social will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 732 Badger Ave., South Milwaukee. Admission tickets will be available at the door.

The evening will include raffles, silent auction items, beer, soda and food. You do not have to be a member of the club to attend.

CHS Football Booster Club releases meeting schedule

The Cudahy Football Booster Club will hold meetings every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Joe’s K-Ranch, 4840 S. Whitnall Ave., throughout the football season starting Aug. 12.

Membership is open to anyone who supports Cudahy Bulldogs or Cudahy Packers football, and all are welcome to attend the meetings.

Competitors to conduct fast-pitch softball tryouts

The Competitors Fast-pitch Club will hold tryouts for the 2009 season from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Greendale High School, 6801 Southway. The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 24.

All interested girls ages 11 to 18 are invited to attend. Competitors teams play in the Metro Milwaukee Fast-pitch League and in five to six tournaments during the summer.

Registration in progress for Junior Cav football team

Registration has started for the St. Thomas More Junior Cav football team.

This is a tackle program for students entering grades five through eight.

The Cudahy Bulldogs are accepting applications for coaching positions in their youth football program for the upcoming fall season.

Queen of Diamonds softball tryouts slated

Queen of Diamonds softball tryouts will be held at the Oak Creek Little League Complex, 7800 S. 6th St., Oak Creek, on Sunday, Aug. 24.

U10 tryouts will run from 1 to 2:15 p.m., U12 tryouts from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and U16 tryouts from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

The rain date will be Sunday, Aug. 31, with U10 tryouts from noon to 1:15 p.m. and U12 tryouts from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m.
