Registration in progress for Junior Cav football team

Registration has started for the St. Thomas More Junior Cav football team.

This is a tackle program for students entering grades five through eight.

Cudahy football boosters set next meeting for June 23

The Cudahy Football Booster Club will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Monday June 23, at Joe’s K-Ranch, 4840 S. Whitnall Ave.

MK United U16 boys finish second in Illinois tournament

The MK United U16 boys soccer team finished second in the Mid America Cup College Showcase in Peoria, Ill.

The U16 team features some of the best players from Mukwonago, Muskego, Oak Creek and South Milwaukee high schools.

Members of the team are Jimmy Davenport, Nate Kowalczyk, Nick Dalla Santa, Jake Simms, Marcus Connor, Zach Valen, Mitch Golla, Wade Nelson, Brett Lipshetz, Andy Anich, Jake Madecky, Kyle Furey, Aaron Sirko, Steven Appenzeller, Nick Tripoli, Ryan Vander Heyden, Kyle Schmit and Greg Hazenfield. Megan Johnson coaches the team.

Bay View Area Redcats holding football registration

The Bay View Area Redcats youth tackle football program is accepting registration for fall for youth in grades three through eight and is also taking applications from potential coaches.

Practices and games will run from August through October. The registration fee is $100 plus participation in a fundraiser.

Players should register from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday or from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday at the Redcats office, 2201 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., Milwaukee.

AMF South Park Lanes sets bowling specials, volleyball

AMF South Park Lanes, 305 N. Chicago Ave., South Milwaukee, is offering two specials.

Sunday morning family bowl is offered from 10 a.m. to noon for $1 plus tax per game. Bumper lanes are available.

Dollarmania, featuring bowling for $1 plus tax and shoe rental at the same rate, is offered from 8 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays. This offer is not valid with any other coupons.

AMF South Park is also accepting registrations for summer sand volleyball and a wide variety of summer bowling leagues.

St. Thomas More offers football fundamentals camp

St. Thomas More will hold a football fundamentals camp Tuesday through Thursday, July 22 through 24.

The camp is for boys and girls entering grades five through nine. The cost is $50.

14th Gosz basketball camp sessions scheduled for July

The Jim Gosz Basketball Camp will take place at the following locations and times:

Blessed Sacrament School, 4100 W. Oklahoma Ave. Milwaukee, Monday through Thursday, July 7 through 10 and Monday through Thursday, July 21 through 24; St. Leonard School, Muskego, Monday through Wednesday, July 14 through 17.

Greendale offers girls basketball shooting camp

Greendale High School is offering a basketball shooting camp for girls entering fourth through ninth grade.

The camp will be directed by varsity coach Jerry Hastings and junior varsity coach Ron Gavinski and will be held at Greendale Intermediate School.

Members of the Greendale varsity basketball team will assist.

The camp will run from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 14 through 18.

DJ’s Court Tourney planned for Aug. 2 at Franklin High

The DJ’s Court Tourney, a 3-on-3 basketball tourney played in memory of former Franklin High School basketball star Christine Rathke, is being organized for 2008.

The co-ed tourney will be played from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Franklin High School.

To enter, send a $60 check made out to DJ Slater, enclose the team name and the names of the players, and mail them to DJ Slater, 8516 W. Beacon Hill Drive, Franklin, Wis., 53132.
