CUDAHY

THEFT

A 48-year-old South Milwaukee man was cited for scavenging of recyclables after he attempted to steal about $30 of scrap metal from CR Industries, 5757 Pennsylvania Ave., at around 9:30 a.m. April 12. The man returned the metal when he was confronted by two employees, but the company still requested that the crime be prosecuted.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 34-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, first offense, after police spotted him driving twice the posted speed limit, then saw him lose control of his car and collide with a railroad crossing gate near the 5500 block of South Whitnall Avenue, just before 2 a.m. April 14. The crash gave the driver stomach pain and a bloody nose and the passenger a broken arm, for which they were both hospitalized. The collision also pulled the railroad crossing gate out of the ground, exposing electrical wiring and causing about $10,000 in damage. The man was driving a rental car. His blood alcohol content was not available.

A 21-year-old Cudahy woman was arrested for drunken driving, first offense, in the 5600 block of South Packard Avenue, just after 1 a.m. April 15, after she failed to stop at a red light, swerved in and out of lanes and drove over a curb after she had been signaled to pull over. Her BAC was 0.18.

VANDALISM

A glass door of a vacant building at 4729 S Packard Ave. was smashed causing $500 in damage sometime between 10 p.m. April 14 and 8:15 a.m. April 15. The owner of the vacant building also reported that a window of the same building had been found intact with 16 bb holes in it three days earlier.

A basement storm window was smashed just after noon April 19, at a residence in the 6000 block of South Robert Avenue, causing $300 damage.

OTHER

A 10-year-old Cudahy boy reported to police and was arrested after he threw a rock at a 42-year-old man and caused a one-and-a-half inch, profusely bleeding cut on his head around 8 p.m. April 15. The incident occurred near Pennsylvania and Edgerton avenues, where the boy was trying to humiliate the man while he was walking with his girlfriend by pulling down his pants, failed and then threw the rock. The man was hospitalized and received stitches.

A 45-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct at St. Luke's South Shore Hospital, 5900 S. Lake Drive, at around 7:30 p.m. April 19, after he made numerous homicidal threats, including that he would shoot up a school. That evening, the man was taken from the hospital to the Milwaukee County Mental Health facility, 9455 W. Watertown Plank Road, Wauwatosa, then back to the Milwaukee County Criminal Justice Facility, 949 N. 9th St.

Cudahy police responded to four domestic disturbances last week.

ST. FRANCIS

THEFT

A car was entered and less than $2 of change stolen from the center console of a car parked in the 2100 block of East Tripoli Avenue, sometime between 9:30 p.m. April 17 and midnight April 18. The victim reported that some items, including two $180 pairs of Oakley sunglasses and a professional lock picking kit, were stacked on the passenger seat of the car. Police advised the victim that not taking these items was unusual, especially because it was raining during that time frame.

SOUTH MILWAUKEE

BURGLARY

A $500 stereo was stolen from with an unlocked car within an unlocked garage in the 3800 block of Brooklawn Circle sometime before 5 p.m. April 17.

THEFT

A $220 GPS device was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the1200 block of Manistique Avenue sometime during the early morning hours of April 15.

A rear license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle while it was parked in the 2700 block of Fifth Avenue around 11 a.m. April 15.

A video game system and some videos, collectively worth $420, were stolen from a home in the 1300 block of Minnesota Avenue around 3 p.m. April 15. The items were recovered after a man admitted to taking the items.

A purse valued with its contents at $700 was reported stolen from a car parked in the 100 block of Hawthorne Avenue around noon April 16.

A front-passenger window of a car was smashed and a GPS device stolen from inside it while the car was parked in the 700 block of Clark Avenue during the evening of April 16 or the morning or April 17. A purse was also stolen from the car, but was found in a nearby yard. The window and the GPS device were collectively valued at $350.

A car window was broken during the evening of April 16 or morning of April 17 while the car was parked in the 400 block of Marquette Avenue. Someone attempted to pry open the window, but ended up breaking it instead. The owner of the car reports that nothing was missing, but that the windows will cost $250 to replace.

A car was broken into and $2,700 worth of items taken while the car was parked in the 800 block of Sherman Avenue during the evening of April 16 of the morning of April 17.

A $100 chain saw was reported stolen from a car while it was parked in the 800 block of Marshall Avenue around 1 a.m. April 19.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

A 30-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after he was involved in a three-car accident at College and Nicholson avenues at around 7:30 a.m. April 16. His blood alcohol content was not available. No one involved in the accident was seriously injured.

VANDALISM

Damage of $200 was inflicted on the tires of a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Lakeview Avenue sometime before 7:30 p.m. April 14

The owner of a car reported that someone put sugar in her fuel tank causing about $500 in damage, while the car was parked in the 3700 block of South Chicago Avenue sometime between 1 a.m. and noon April 19.

OTHER

A 32-year-old South Milwaukee woman was arrested for repeated abuse of a dangerous substance after she was picked up on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of Monroe Avenue with an inhalant can and admitted to huffing around 6 p.m. April 16. This was the fifth time in recent weeks that she has been arrested for huffing.

South Milwaukee police responded to 10 domestic violence disturbances last week.
