"I would not know what to do with myself if I did not get my hands dirty," said Ronald Hause, a life-long New Berlin farmer as he restocked his self-serve pumpkin stand on Calhoun Road south of Cleveland Avenue. Hause grows pumpkins and other produce in fields across from Ronald Reagan Elementary School. He started growing pumpkins as "something for the kids."

New Berlin Eisenhower Middle and High School was placed under lock down after a bomb threat was received Sept. 27. A planned homecoming pep assembly was postponed while New Berlin Police swept the building, nothing suspicious was found, and after-school activities resumed without incident.

Vietnam Veteran Joe Campbell, of Wauwatosa, right, greets Peter Tycz, of Greenfield, as the two attend a Prisoner Of War/Missing In Action Vigil on South 108th Street in Hales Corners. Tycz's brother, James, was listed as missing in action during the Vietnam War. His remains were found and identified in 2004 and were buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
