I just want to let people know the recount was performed this morning and the results show the election results were accurate and perfect for both the Mayoral count in District 3 and the Aldermanic count in District 3.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the voters who have voted for me, and all citizens of Cudahy that I will represent while I serve as Mayor. I would also like to thank my family, all of the volunteers, supporters, residents who put up signs, talked to their friends, reminded everyone to vote, and those who gave me a few minutes of their time to listen to me, and share your concerns and ideas for the community.
Jay Weber’s of WISN radio 1130 on Cudahy post-election thoughts on Mayoral Elect John Hohenfeldt and on my aldermanic race.
I want to give congratulations to John Hohenfeldt, Justin Moralez, Mary Schissel, Jason Litkowiec, and Dick Bartoshevich.
It was nice to see Alderman Otto make it to the meeting so the Third District had representation. Now when he came in I did say hi Mr. Otto but he wouldn’t even look at me or acknowledge me or those people I was with who said hi as well.
So I was told by a member of Get it Now’s management that their District Manager on Thursday March 7, 2013 made the decision that once the lease is up in 2 years they are moving!
So many of you know I stated that Cudahy’s Economic Development Director Brian Biernat’s focus has not been on development but on his other job duties!
I am NOT a Johnny Come Lately on Packard Plaza nor am I just now discovering development should have been one of Mayor Day’s top priorities. He is too little too late!
Some people have claimed it was a shock that I was running for alderman. I have taken all of this with great thought and anyone that has been reading the blog since 2010 knew I would be running for Alderman in 2013 as I talked about it in many blog posts.
This last weekend, I heard something that was not exactly the truth but a revisionist who is a politician (Cudahy Mayor Day) hoping to get re-elected (fudging) and he was caught off guard when talking to another elected official (Milwaukee Alderman Tony Zielinski) about Wal-Mart.
Office space fills as rents drop
I want people to take notice that one of the Mayor’s JOBS is economic development and the pursuit of finding, attracting and bring (landing) them in!
I am told that people get it, Cudahy has a development problem, and they know Mayor Day has done very little if anything to address it let alone fix it!
Sears Holding Corp – Kmart
Further below is the meeting agenda. As you all look at, notice Mayor Day is going to give updates to Packard Plaza. So do you think if I didn’t make this a big point and it wasn’t an election year he would be talking about it?
Candidate Mayor Day,
I have talked about that development is a major issue in Cudahy and that our different segments of City Government pertaining to it are not on the same page, no check that, not even in the same book. It is dysfunctional and with dysfunctional things it is spreading to other things. It spreads like cancer.
So if you travel to the Cudahy Economic Development site you will see this:
So my wife was at the Franklin Wal-Mart checking out and two women in front of her were talking about the new South Milwaukee Wal-Mart opening in April.
Dear soon to be elected Mayor,
Well I have talked about the City of Cudahy’s Economic Development website and how out of date it was. Basically untouched since Lara Fritts left in 2010.
Cudahy’s Economic Development Director Brian Biernat is looking for an assistant at $40k plus benefits to make up for the work he cannot do given his focus is on inspection.
I would like to thank the Cudahy residents who gave me a few minutes of their time as we met at your door during the December holiday season as I kicked off my campaign for Mayor. I have listened closely to your concerns for our city, which I share with you.
The Cudahy Wal-Mart battle showed exactly why Cudahy is/has been on a downslope – NIMBY
Mayors are to be the biggest cheerleader for the city.
Thank you Dan Vnuk for letting people know about this!
It is apparent that people are not remembering how things really were in 2006.
I happen to run into former Cudahy Mayor John Hohenfeldt. The first thing I said to him is please run for Cudahy Mayor, please run! We need you!
So it is that time again that we find ourselves with a City that just doesn’t want to get information to the public! It makes me think that underhanded things happen and are happening. This leads us to have to fish for information and lets rumors fly. Well you know I will air them out and let things fall where they may. Flush them out and bring light to them in a city so bent on keep people in the dark which keeps the rumor mill working overtime.
Well I keep hearing from people around Cudahy that Aldi’s is looking at leaving and moving to… yep, you guessed it, South Milwaukee. Oh yeah not far from the Wal-Mart and to an area with more traffic.
Someone, anyone, do you know why the illegal meeting minutes of the Cudahy Reorganization Committee held March 29, which were probably approved by the Common Council are not out on the city’s website?
Well the Roadrunner Milwaukee terminal is history in Cudahy. They have moved to Brown Deer.
So after an illegal meeting and an invalid vote, Mayor Day is rushing this to the agenda!
City Attorney Eberhardy,
I was able to attend the meeting and Wisconsin State Open Meetings Law Violation occurred during the meeting.
So everyone today is another meeting of the minds @ 5:30pm at Cudahy City Hall.
I would like to see the Elected Officials of Cudahy get serious about the real things plaguing our City.
The great committee of super thinkers will approve and advise the Common Council to move forward with Reorganizing the City of Cudahy and moving towards a Part Time Mayor and Full Time Administrator.
Remember - Reading between the lines and the intent of all of this!
This synopsis below comes from one of the few people to attend this meeting.
Remember how a few people like Mike the Dead President who thinks I don’t know what I am talking about and am misinformed.
So I received this email:
I heard that there is the possibility of a school referendum being considered for the November ballot.
Well people, it seems you and I are causing Mayor Day and his efforts to reorganize the City to his needs some issues. “We” seem to be undermining his efforts in the dark of the night to bring these things to reality.
Let’s get some background information so we are all on the same page. We will then go over why we don’t need them and then some brutally honest questions and comments.
Let me start out by saying this information has NOT been validated and should be taken as a rumor until proven factual.
While I get a few emails monthly that my blogs are just chucked full of negative things including portraying a negative image of Cudahy, I have to stop and consider if that is the truth!

I am sure most readers have seen the MJS article titled “Ex-Iceport site in Cudahy draws interest” if not here it is:
Here is the memo floating around (see below). I am shocked they didn’t leave the pictures that I guess have been accompanying the memo.
I heard from Cudahy Alderman Dick Bartoshevich that he never supported McCue and he is not sold on a city Administrator. In fact, he said at Otto's meeting that the costs were not what people want to hear about.
So, the subject of a Part Time Mayor and the hiring of a City Administrator is a cause of great concern along with the speed at which Mayor Day wants it done. Before the 2013 election cycle!
Fellow blogger Heather Liban wrote a very nice post titled “Using Email Etiquette” and one of her readers – GregfromCudahy writes this comment:

Have you seen how many mailers McCue has been sending out? This last one received in Wednesday’s mail is the most expensive one to date.
I will be uploading all of the Open Records Requests that were done as they are public documents and the people should see them.

Tony Day showed the ability to talk without having written notes to guide him. He was able to think on his feet.
I just wonder how many plants were in the audience to feed Mayor McCue questions? Did you notice Mayor McCue reading off of his full size sheets of notes?
I just want everyone to remember cudahy110’s comments and how he admits McCue got a rebuttal in even when the moderator said no rebuttals.

This is another chance for McCue supporters to rave about your candidate and explain all he has done in the 3 years as
Not only are Mayor McCue’s large signs too big and in violation they do not contain sign disclaimers this is true of the large banner types as well.
Here are things I am hearing with winds on the street. Believe them, don’t believe them, pass them off as half truths or just the rumor mill. Since we don’t know if any of this is true, I have to say they are rumors until someone comes forward to say otherwise!
If a candidate that is the Incumbent is running for re-election, should they be able to use City Hall for possible campaigning?
Please help fill in the gaps year by year of what Mayor McCue has done! Please be specific and include dates. If McCue did something great or at all, let’s give him the credit he deserves! Here is your chance, all you McCue supporters, to shine and show me I am wrong.

Okay it was smart of Mayor Ryan McCue to get this out two weeks prior to the primary election, so let’s give him kudos on the time. Very effective!
I would like to thank everybody who attended the debate on Friday night. Close to 100 residents attended the event to hear what Tony Day and Kevin Fech had to say to the people of
I’ve picked apart the “Your Stories” article titled ‘Remember the Past before Voting for the Future’ from CudahyNow, as it is a fountain of misinformation and an attempt to discredit Tony Day and puff up Mayor McCue without uttering his name. It is bending the reality curve upward past the breaking point in attempting to make lies turn into truths. It is full of half-truths and fabrications. You have to ask yourself why someone would twist the truth when convenient. However, this question is largely political and I expect many people don't want their political agenda disturbed by facts.

It would appear that a reader was right that you could not campaign (including getting signatures to be on the ballot) on federal property like the Cudahy U.S. Post Office.
At least that is what this email I received from someone tells me.

As many of you remember that for the longest time I have made it a big deal how much time Mayor McCue spends at City Hall. Election time is around the corner, so the Mayor is now visible at City Hall. Playing off of that old “It is what you have done lately” that will be in people’s minds.

The challenge is to have all of the city’s meetings that are already taped put up so anyone can hear them. Put them on our New City Website, the old one or put them up on Youtube, but put them up so all can hear!
This is more of the emails back and forth from me and Mayor McCue. Watch how he states that I cut and paste and then he does it in such a manor that the sentences don’t make much sense and don’t flow. Also watch how he doesn’t know to what I was talking about and then I remind him of the agenda, then he does. Watch how he answers with non-answers and doesn’t answer others.
This is Mr. Vaccaro's question from the Cudahy Wisconsin Common Council meeting on Tuesday September 15th 2009 on the subject of funds from the CBGR that were moved to the Kohl's project in escrowed money instead of using the CBGR to complete the ADA (the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990) bathroom to bring it up to ADA code.
This is an email I received from Mayor McCue based on my post titled, “Cudahy Director of Public Works / City Engineer” where I posted some emails from Cudahy residents talking about Cudahy Director of Public Works / City Engineer Mary Jo Lange and some concerns.
You may remember the blog post I did titled “2010 Budget Time” where I stated, “I think someone should audit the time and money spent for TIF and find out how much time and money is being spent on non-TIF things!”, well it is being audited.
Cudahy Mayor Ryan McCue is holding three town hall meetings this month. I know this because Rachel Mosey, one of the four Interns for Lara Fritts,

South Milwaukee & St. Francis’s elected officials, please learn from Cudahy and Mayor Ryan McCue’s mistakes that elitist actions, lack of information and respect for all the citizens of your cities will hurt your cities.
That is a powerful headline is it? Some may read the headline and say, “Randy, the Mayor should be delegating job duties!”
A while back, I wrote about the Open Records request and how on one of them the City or Mayor McCue was stonewalling or just plain ignoring the request and Wisconsin’s Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen was sent a letter detailing such disregard to the law.
Well the new Cudahy 2009 Spring/Summer newsletter has arrived. I have to say it reads as a 2010 Mayor McCue ???free??? campaign literature. Many of the points are to deflect the criticism I personally brought up in the My Report Card of Mayor McCue series.
Last year if you remember we had this - It is my understand that deputy clerk / confidential secretary (Judy Masarak), just quit and the city is bringing back Carolyn Thoms-Neary, even though the job description was not even hammered out as director of office services. If the personnel committee NEVER met about this idea how can it be passed? (I was told that Judy saw an ad for her job and decided to leave after seeing it)
There were people that questioned that the numbers I used were valid. So here it is!
Please Email me any questions or comments you want me to post for Mayor McCue to answer for his Cudahy State of the City Address.
The City’s website http://www.ci.cudahy.wi.us/. I like to think of it as “The People’s Website.” If you look at it, it meets the basic needs of a city website created in the late 1990’s.
From the Cudahy Birdman:
Yes, it is for real! This is NOT an April fool’s Day Joke. Mayor McCue is finally going to have the State of the City address.Mayor to present State of the City address
As I look at my numbers of views on the city, Mayor and Wal-Mart blogs – NO! They are still very high in people looking.
This is part 1 of the wrap-up of my report card of Mayor Ryan McCue.

It is that dreaded day! It’s Friday and time for another installment of Mayor Ryan McCue’s Report Card. The last one until we all tally up the grades.
I wish to share some comments I received in emails about Mayor McCue’s failure as a leader and Mayor. My thoughts are in blue.
It is Friday and time for another installment of Mayor Ryan McCue’s Report Card.
This is the continuation of Mayor Ryan McCue’s Campaign Platform and promises and how in my point he has done so far in a report card format.
