Some Hope for Autism
Nasal Spray With Hormone Gives Hope in Treating Autism
Tests showed that a nasal spray that contains a certain hormone helps people with autism interact better with others.
13 adults were tested. The results show that by administering the hormone "Oxytocin" those tested were better in recognizing faces and playing ball with other people. These findings are called "promising.”
Children with autism could develop more normally with this hormone. By nature, they have extraordinarily low levels of "Oxytocin,” which is important for social interaction.
