Here is A Major Fix For City Hall

As many of you remember that for the longest time I have made it a big deal how much time Mayor McCue spends at City Hall.  Election time is around the corner, so the Mayor is now visible at City Hall.  Playing off of that old “It is what you have done lately” that will be in people’s minds.

Some people were appalled and some people applauded my actions.  Some people gave me the idea, while others asked me to drop it!

I am going to bottom line it!  Just make everyone that works at City Hall, swipe in (which they already do) and swipe out (which they don’t).

Have them do this even when they do to lunch.  Have everyone, hourly and salaried do it.  So the people know the coming and goings of the public servants.  See right now, there is nothing to audit.  Not much to do an Open records request on.  I know I have looked into it.  Why worry about it if you are on the straight and narrow?

Some people tell me I have no concern about City Hall because I am looking into the small things.  Well, every cent adds up.  Ever hear of being nickel-and-dimed to death?

One must not be solely concerned with big things, for the smallest of things can take down the hardest or mightiest of things.  Emerald Ash Bore, Redwood Bark Beetles, or Malaria Parasites ring a bell for anyone?

Some of the smallest things are the easiest things to overlook or take a blind eye to!

What happen to the credit card policy or the car log?  Oh yeah, they are in the Employee Handbook!  Is the Mayor in it?  I have been told that Cudahy doesn’t have a written definition or job description entailing what the Mayor of Cudahy is to be doing!  Is that in the “handbook”?

Things in government should flow from the top down, with the top setting the example!

What I find most funny is the person who told me that I don’t care about “The City” said I don’t have the balls to take on the “City Unions”.  If I see something the unions are doing wrong, I would and will.  I am an equal opportunist.  I call out people in my own political party remember I did on Scott Walker.  I think the person making the “Balls” comment, just wanted to get my gourd and push me to say something about the city unions.

I was waiting for the person to come out and say, “Why are you pro police”?

Question – Is there such a thing as almost correct when talking about following policy and procedures?  Is that like giving half credit for trying?  2 + 2 =3

Question – If the policy states must give 48 hours notice does 36 hours work?

Question – How many people are at City Hall at 5:00pm, even on Friday?

Question – If you are salaried, does that mean you only work 40 hours?

Question – If you are salaried and have a meeting after 5pm or before your normal start time, does that mean you can cut out early another day to just maintain the 40 hours?
