The Way I See It!
I am an Ultra-Conservative, Alpha-Male, True Authentic Leader, Type "C" Personality, who is very active in my community; whether it is donating time, clothes or money for Project Concern or going to Common Council meetings and voicing my opinions. As a blogger, I intend to provide a different viewpoint "The way I see it!" on various world, national and local issues with a few helpful tips & tidbits sprinkled in.

Some of this might sound familiar as this post was born out of a comment of mine to another post I did.

You get people that talk about how Taste of Chicago should not have to share the dates with Summerfest, how great the bike trails are, bike racks on buses, the rail, big box ordinances, sales tax should be higher, how Milwaukee is just the north suburb of Chicago and some day will be part of Chicago, all the shops on the Mile, and the list goes on.

I kid with my friends that as children those liberal rail advocates either were denied a choo-choo train set as a child and long to relive a childhood dream or their parents beat them with a toy train track and much like the Stockholm Syndrome now covet what they were abused by. I am not saying that Stockholm syndrome or those that suffer from it should be taken lightly. I hope they get help, including those with “Chicago Envy,” “European Envy” or “Train Envy”!

Enough religion. It was just South1 made a religious comment recently and it made me thing of this comment.
Metropolis & Liberals
I think all of this can be traced back to the 1927 silent move 'Metropolis' by Fritz Lang which depicts a depressing view of an urban dystopia set in 2026 and examines the struggle between classes.
I think many liberal’s view of urbanism can be traced back to this movie. It scared their grandfathers and great-grandfather that still to this day they fear cities and life in them.
Many of them look back at 1927’s mode of transportation, trains and wish things stayed like it was then. That is why the liberals are so much in a hurry to teardown roads and bridges. They just want to make it so difficult to use a car that trains will be the(y) way. This will create the Utopia they are looking for! I call it “Dense Pack” where everyone lives all huddled together in one little area next to the trainstation. That is why they are in such a push for roundabout as well to make car travel hard and slow. Just forget about that accidents happen more in roundabouts, they explain it off that people just need to learn how to deal with it and learn how to better use them. They furtherer their argument that yes for traffic accidents happen, but less fatalities. That can be accomplished just by slowing the speed limits on all roads to 5 mph.
