26)    Building search in business w/ open door on 01/08/09 @ 2252 hours:  report by citizen of open rear door at closed vacuum business.  K-9 deployed off lead with officers following.  K-9 would clear ahead and officers would then check by hand.  No indications from k-9.  Nobody located inside.  Appears to be an oversight by employee.  Great job by k-9 in low light condition and on slippery stairs.

 

27)    Combative ch. 51 on 01/19/09 @ 2230 hours:  request by milw. Pd to assist with combative ch. 51 at slss hospital.  Upon arrival, assisted mpd officer with subject to his squad car.  Subject was spitting and threatening to fight police.  Subject placed in back of squad car and began to kick door.  Door was about to come open.  K-9 was deployed and stood guard in front of door so subject could see him.  Subject immediately stopped kicking door and remained calm until mpd transported to mental health.

 

 

28)    Exterior vehicle sniff on traffic stop 01/20/09 @ 1958 hours:  this officer conducted traffic stop and detected odor of burnt marijuana from inside vehicle.  Subject asked to exit vehicle and was advised k-9 was going to be deployed.  Subject then stated there was some marijuana in the back seat.  K-9 was deployed on exterior and alerted on drivers door seam.  K-9 deployed inside vehicle and alerted on pocket behind front passenger seat.  Officer located 28 grams marijuana in sandwich bag.  K-9 alerted on other parts of vehicle as well.  Officer located marijuana residue throughout vehicle.  Subject was arrested.

 

29)    Exterior vehicle sniff on traffic stp, 01/24/09 @ 1851 hours:  this officer conducted traffic stop and identified a passenger as being arrested in past for possession of heroin.  K-9 deployed on exterior sniff and alerted on drivers door handle.  K-9 deployed inside and alerted on center console as well as backseat near trunk area.  Search revealed heroin paraphernalia such as needles, rubber bands, and small metal caps with heroin residue.  One subject was arrested and the investigation was furthered. 

 

30)    Exterior vehicle sniff on traffic stop, 01/25/09 @ 2053 hours:  request by other officer for exterior vehicle sniff on vehicle driven by known drug user.  K-9 deployed with no indications/alerts.  Driver gave consent for k-9 to be deployed inside.  No indications/alerts inside vehicle.

 

31)    Search warrant execution at a residence on 01/26/09 @1142 hours:  k-9 and handler assigned to perimeter during execution of search warrant at a residence in Cudahy.  K-9 sensed handlers excitement and was on full alert.  K-9 was not deployed in residence for narcotics search due to safety hazard.  Dangerous narcotics and paraphernalia, i.e. needles, were strewn about residence.  K-9 was later deployed at another residence in a bedroom.  K-9 alerted to coffee table.  Nothing located.  Another officer on scene stated he had retrieved a baggie of heroin from the table prior to k-9 deployment.  K-9 did not alert anywhere else.

 

32)    Possible burglary at local business on 01/26/09 @ 1958 hours:  other Cudahy officer located open door at closed business and requested k-9.  Commands were given and k-9 became excited.  K-9 deployed off lead with officers closely behind.  No indications from k-9 that anyone was present in first section of building.  Upon reaching a closed door to another section of the building, commands were given again.  K-9 deployed off lead with officers close behind.  No indication that anyone was present.  It was later learned that the open door was an oversight by an employee and that there were no problems.

 

33)    Drug/gang interdiction in city of Cudahy on 01/30/09:  during the hours of 1900 – 2400, Cudahy officers participated in vehicle drug interdiction.  Officers stopped several vehicles and k-9 was deployed on approximately 5 vehicles for exterior sniff.  K-9 did not alert on any vehicles.  Weather was very cold (5 degrees) and windy.

 

34)    Vehicle sniff on traffic stop, 01/30/09 @ 2156 hours:  officer conducted traffic stop with vehicle during drug interdiction.  Operator was advised k-9 was going to be deployed on exterior vehicle sniff.  Operator first stated nothing was in vehicle.  Operator then stated he had marijuana in the trunk.  K-9 deployed and upon reaching trunk seam, k-9 sucked in tongue and sniffed seam.  Trunk was opened and k-9 deployed inside trunk.  K-9 began to bite a McDonald’s bag.  Inside bag was 38 grams of marijuana.  K-9 deployed inside vehicle and alerted on center console.  A metal grinder with marijuana residue inside was located.  K-9 also alerted on glove box.  Located was an empty sandwich bag similar to the ones containing marijuana in the trunk.

 

35)    Vehicle sniff on search incident to arrest on 01/31/09 @ 2222 hours:  Cudahy officer stopped vehicle and arrested operator an outstanding warrant for possession of marijuana.  K-9 deployed inside vehicle and alerted to area under drivers seat.  Officer located marijuana residue and other small pieces of marijuana.

 

36)    School search at so. Milw. High school on 02/13/09 @ 0730 hours:  request by so. Milw. Pd to assist in conducting locker sniffs at high school.  K-9 deployed on lead and sniffed approx. 200 lockers with no indication.  30 grams of marijuana in plastic and paper were placed in a locker for training at the end of the sniff.  K-9 alerted on the locker.  K-9 was well behaved considering all the staff, other officers and k-9’s present. Great job by k-9.

 

37)    Possible home invasion on 02/14/09 at 1935 hours:  Cudahy officers called to residence at 3871 e. Morris ave after teenage girls in lower unit reported hearing a door slam shut in upper unit where nobody was home.  K-9 deployed off lead in attic unit and gave no indication a person was there.  Officers conducted hand search and did not locate anyone.  K-9 also deployed in middle unit and again, no indication anyone was inside.  Officers conducted search and did not locate anyone.  Other officer spoke to parent/owner of residence who believes there is paranormal activity.  K-9 did good job on steep/slippery stairs.

 

38)    Vehicle sniff during traffic stop on 02/15/09 at 2140 hours:  this officer conducted vehicle sniff during traffic stop.  All occupants asked to exit car during sniff.  All occupants stated there was nothing illegal in the car.  K-9 deployed on lead with three passes around vehicle and gave no indication or alerts.  Great job by k-9.

 

39)    Request by other agency for narcotics sniff in residence on 02/19/08 at 2000 hours:  milw pd requested k-9 at location of search warrant to locate narcotics.  K-9 deployed and immediately seemed distracted.  K-9 had to be given search command several times throughout the residence.  K-9 did do good job of checking high spots.  K-9 alerted to tool box (nothing located).  K-9 did alert on coffee table where marijuana had previously been.  K-9 did not indicated in any other location in residence.

 

40)    Request to conduct sniff of residence on 02/22/09 at 1030 hours:  other Cudahy officers investigating heroin overdose requested k-9 to search room where victim had been at time of overdose.  K-9 alerted near area of an end table and lamp.  Nothing located.  Nothing else located in room.

 

41)    Request to conduct exterior vehicle sniff on 02/22/09 at 1700 hours:  request by other Cudahy officers to conduct exterior vehicle sniff on unoccupied vehicle in parking lot owned by suspected heroin user.  K-9 deployed and 3 passes around vehicle were made.  No indications/alerts given by k-9.

 

42)    Burglar alarm at elementary school on 02/22/09 at 1930 hours:  officer on burglar alarm located open door to school.  K-9 deployed off lead with officers following.  K-9 was deployed in bathrooms and classrooms then hand checked by officers.  Nobody located in building and it was determined to be an oversight by staff.

 

43)    Burglar alarm at business on 02/27/09 @ 1831 hrs:  commercial burglar alarm at business.  First officer on scene located open door.  K-9 deployed off lead with officers checking rooms by hand behind the k-9.  No alerts from k-9.  Great job by k-9 despite loud audible alarm sounding and loud machines running.

 

44)    Exterior vehicle sniff on 02/27/09 @ 2141 hours:  officer on traffic stop requested k-9 for vehicle sniff.  K-9 deployed and 3 passes around vehicle were made.  No indications/alerts from k-9.  Temp was cold with gusty winds.

 

45)    Interior search of vehicle on 03/01/09 @ 2200 hours:  officers stopped vehicle leaving suspected drug house.  Upon advising driver that k-9 would be deployed, he stated he had a prescription pill in the vehicle that he just bought for $2.00.  Subject was arrested.  K-9 deployed inside vehicle incident to the arrest.  K-9 alerted on glove box.  Located inside glove box was a small amount of marijuana residue along with the pill the subject stated he just purchased.  The investigation was furthered.

 

46)    Exterior sniff of storage locker on 03/04/09 @ 1429 hours:  detectives conducting drug investigation requesting k-9 for exterior sniff of storage locker that may have been used to house marijuana.  It was unknown if any marijuana was currently inside.  K-9 deployed and made several passes around door, lock, and handle with no indications.

 

47)    Interior vehicle sniff on 03/04/09 @ 2024 hours:  this officer conducted traffic stop and found a passenger to a have a warrant for his arrest.  During conversation with another passenger, she was advised k-9 was going to be deployed for narcotics sniff.  Female then stated that the subject with the warrants tossed crack cocaine and heroin out of the window as the car made a turn when being pulled over.  K-9 deployed and alerted on both front seats and the glove box.  Located in the glove box were approximately 34 prescription pills in a cigarette cellophane wrapper.  It was later learned that 2 people in the vehicle were recently driving around smoking crack cocaine in the vehicle.  No other narcotics located.  The subject who may have thrown narcotics out the window only tossed the heroin and swallowed the crack cocaine.  Both male subjects in the vehicle admitted to using heroin and crack cocaine.  The narcotics thrown out the window were not located.

 

48)    Exterior vehicle sniff on 03/05/09 @ 2138 hours:  officer requesting exterior vehicle sniff at traffic stop.  Occupants allowed remaining in vehicle.  No indications / alerts from k-9.

 

49)    Drug investigation on 03/06/09 @ about 1555 hours:  this officer and k-9 assisting with drug investigation involving a vehicle and a large amount of marijuana.  Suspected vehicle observed in parking lot unoccupied.  K-9 deployed on exterior sniff and alerted on drivers’ door seam.  This information was used to get a search warrant for a hotel room where the suspects were possibly staying.  Officers entered hotel room and located approximately 59 lbs.  Of marijuana, approximately three thousand dollars and a loaded hand gun.

 

50)    Exterior/interior vehicle sniff on 03/07/09 @ 1900 hours:  detective requesting k-9 sniff from vehicle involved in above incident.  Detective hand searched vehicle but wanted k-9 incase there were hidden traps.  K-9 alerted on several areas in the vehicle.  A small amount of additional marijuana was located in the drivers’ door pocket.  Detective advised k-9 alerted to areas where marijuana had previously been.  No hidden traps located.

 

51)    Request by other agency for track of a robbery suspect on 03/12/09 @ 2037 hrs:  request by so. Milw pd for track of suspect who robbed dairy queen and fled in an unknown direction.  K-9 deployed and immediately picked up track out of the rear door of business.  K-9 continued through a small set a bushes then east into a parkway.  K-9 was pulling hard until we reached an area where a bike trail met the roadway.  K-9 then lifted its head.  K-9 unable to pick up track.  It is unknown how or where suspect escaped the area.

 

52)    Request by Cudahy officers for track of r.e.s. suspect on 03/18/09 @ 2052 hrs.  Local Walgreen’s pharmacy window was damaged by a suspect shooting a .22cal round at it.  Neighbors of business observed suspect in their back yard, flee to the west.  K-9 began on track and quickly got a scent heading west past a large garage.  K-9 then tracked through a set of bushes and headed east along the side of a dental office.  K-9 then rounded the front of the building and headed north until reaching a dark service drive between the dental office and 30 minute photo.  K-9 unable to pick up track.

 

53)    Request by other agency for track of robbery suspect on 03/18/08 @ approx. 2130 hrs:  request by so. Milw pd for track of suspect who again robbed the dairy queen.  Smpd officers stated it was the same suspect from 03/12/09.  K-9 deployed on a track but really seemed in odor by the rear door as if the suspect had been standing there for a period of time.  K-9 located track and proceeded in the same direction as on 03/12/09.  K-9 tracked to same spot and again lost the scent in the same location as on 03/12/09.

 

54)    School locker search on 03/24/09 @ 0900 hrs:  request by staff at Cudahy middle school for k-9 sniff of lockers.  Ocpd had 2 dogs and Franklin had 1 dog.  Cudahy k-9 indicated on a locker in the girls locker room.  Nothing located.  The 3 other dogs indicated on lockers as well but nothing was located.  A plant of 2 grams of marijuana in a sealed plastic jar was placed in a fire extinguisher holder for training.  All 4 dogs alerted to the hide.

 

55)    Request by other agency for area search of robbery suspect on 03/25/09 at about 0800 hours:  so. Milw pd requesting k-9 for search of yards after robbery suspect fled from police.  K-9 deployed on long lead with two additional cudahy officers as cover.  Suspect was not located in any of the yards.  K-9 did great job checking garage doors and small hiding places in the yards.

 

56)    Request by other Cudahy officer for exterior vehicle sniff on 03/30/09:  Cudahy officer on traffic stop requested k-9 for exterior vehicle sniff of large passenger van.  Driver of vehicle was debriefed and stated there were no illegal narcotics inside and there should be no reason k-9 would alert on vehicle.  K-9 deployed on lead and 3 passes around the vehicle were made.  K-9 did not alert / indicate on the vehicle.

 

57)    Request by other Cudahy officers for a barricaded subject on 03/31/09:  Cudahy officers on scene of a possible suicidal barricaded subject in an apartment requesting additional officers as well as k-9.  K-9 and handler in hallway of building when subject exited holding a dark object and pointing like a gun.  K-9 was not deployed and officers retreated to a safe area and subject re-entered his apt.  K-9 was ready to go, barking, and trying to get to the area the subject retreated from.  It was determined that if subject were to exit apt.  Again, k-9 would be deployed to apprehend.  Subject again exited but complied with officers orders to lie on the ground.  K-9 was focused on the subject and barking while guarding the subject as he was taken into custody.  K-9 did excellent job with control given the tight quarters and officers shouting at the subject.  Excellent job by k-9.  His behavior was exactly what is to be expected of a police dog. 

 

58)    Felony stop of vehicle occupied by suspected armed robbers on 04/01/09:  Cudahy police received credible information that there was a vehicle parked on the street that was occupied by 2 subjects that had been involved in at least 2 armed robberies where a black handgun was displayed.  Officers arrived, located vehicle and performed felony stop.k-9 was deployed and remained next to this handler as other officers ordered occupants out of the vehicle.  K-9 was aggressively barking and intently watching the vehicle and the subjects as they were taken into custody.  K-9 did excellent job keeping focus and had very high energy and drive to get the job done.

 

59)    Traffic stop in which driver had pocs warrant on 04/10/09 @ 2039 hrs:  this officer conducted traffic stop on vehicle in which driver had pocs warrant.  Driver arrested and k-9 deployed inside vehicle.  K-9 immediately indicated on area between center console and drivers seat.  Marijuana residue located.  Great job by k-9.

 

60)    Traffic stop by Cudahy officer in which passenger had sold pills to undercover officer on 04/10/09 @2059 hrs:  other Cudahy officer stopped vehicle in which passenger had previously sold pills to undercover officer.  Passenger was arrested and k-9 deployed inside vehicle.  K-9 alerted to drivers seat where marijuana residue was located.

 

61)    Request from other agency to apprehend suspect w/ warrant on 04/10/09 @ 2333 hrs:  Wisconsin doc advised they wanted subject arrested for violating probation.  Same subject was w/ armed robbery suspect arrested in Cudahy.  K-9 was on lead and walking up alley with 2 other officers when suspect arrived on scene in vehicle occupied by 4 individuals.  K-9 commanded to bark.  All subjects remained in vehicle and subject taken into custody without incident.\

 

62)    Request by Cudahy officers for exterior vehicle sniff on 04/13/09 @ 2019 hrs:  request by other Cudahy officers for exterior vehicle sniff.  K-9 deployed on lead with no indications.  K-9 did not appear to be feeling well as his head and his ears were hung low.  K-9 had vomited the previous day and was possibly still ill.

 

63)    Traffic accident in which injured passenger fled on foot on 04/14/09:  serious traffic accident in which injured passenger fled scene on foot.  Unknown how serious the injury was but it was obvious a head injury.  K-9 deployed into auto salvage yard for area search.  No one located.  A grid search was then conducted w/ k-9 on lead.  Passenger not located.  It was later learned that passenger fled scene, made a phone call and was picked up near the scene of the accident.

 

64)    Burglar alarm at business on 04/15/09 @ 2123 hours:  local business burglar alarm and business was closed.  K-9 deployed off lead as exterior of building was checked.  Building was secure.

 

65)    K-9 swearing in ceremony on 04/21/09:  Ezzo sworn in as first Cudahy police k-9.  K-9 was well received and greeted by many citizens and supporters.  K-9 was excited and knew it was his night.

 

66)    Request by other Cudahy officers for vehicle sniff on 04/28/09 @ 1930hrs:  request by other Cudahy officers for exterior vehicle sniff of vehicle occupied by known heroin users.  K-9 did not indicate on the exterior.  Driver gave consent for interior search and k-9 alerted to interior of drivers door.  Located was 2 needles recently used to inject heroin.

 

67)    Request by Cudahy officers for interior vehicle sniff on 04/28/09 @ 2142 hrs:  other Cudahy officer took driver of vehicle into custody for possession of narcotics which were located in vehicle.  K-9 deployed inside vehicle.  K-9 was in odor immediately.  K-9 alerted to front seats of vehicle as well as the left side of the front dash, the location of the narcotics located by the other officer.

 

68)    This officer stopped a vehicle possibly involved in a gunfire complaint on 05/02/09 @ 2244hrs:  citizen reported teenagers shooting fireworks and possibly a gun then fled in a small black car.  This officer located a similar car with teenagers inside.  As officer turned around to stop vehicle, vehicle quickly turned corner and a backseat passenger began to quickly walk down an alley.  K-9 commanded to bark and subject ordered back to the vehicle.  Subject complied.  Subjects not involved in original complaint. 

 

69)    This officer stopped suspicious vehicle on 05/18/09:  during contact with subjects inside vehicle, it was learned passenger held warrant for arrest.  He was taken into custody.  Other 2 occupants asked to exit vehicle and advised k-9 was going to do exterior sniff.  Driver stated officers could search the car because nothing was inside.  K-9 deployed inside and immediately alerted to drivers seat, center console and glove box.  Located was a total of 14 grams of marijuana individually packaged for sale.  This marijuana was located in the center console and glove box.

 

70)    Request by other dept.  For exterior vehicle sniff on 05/19/09:  St. Francis pd requesting exterior vehicle sniff on vehicle involved in a traffic stop.  K-9 deployed on lead and 3 passes made.  No alerts/indications from k-9

 

71)    Barricaded subject in residence on 05/21/09 @1638hrs:  dv suspect barricaded inside residence and officers could smell natural gas coming fro residence.  Handler and k-9 arrived on scene and took rear perimeter position inside garage.  K-9 could not be used to clear residence for suspect because a loose dog was inside.  Subject ultimately located in attic of residence.

 

72)    Request by other department for exterior/interior vehicle sniff on 05/22/09:  so. Milw. Pd requesting k-9 for vehicle sniff.  Officer advised driver gave consent for search.  K-9 deployed off lead into vehicle and alerted to the drivers seat and floor area.  During hand search, several empty plastic baggies located along with baggie containing small amount of marijuana.  Subject arrested by smpd.  Subject also believed to be selling marijuana in the city of So. Milw.

 

73)    Request by other cupd officer for exterior vehicle sniff on 05/22/09:  officer on traffic stop requesting exterior vehicle sniff.  K-9 deployed on lead and 3 passes made.  K-9 was sniffing good but no alerts/ indications.

 

74)    Report of subjects w/ guns on foot in apt. Complex on 05/24/09:  officers responded to subjects possibly armed.  K-9 on lead w/ handler.  Subjects taken into custody w/o incident.  K-9 commanded to bark and did good job guarding subjects.  One subject was seen in different area than other subjects and k-9 guarded him.  K-9 downed and handler handcuffed subject.  Great control by k-9.

 

75)    Report of subjects involved in above incident now fighting in parking lot at apt. Complex on 0524/09.  K-9 on lead w/ handler.  No subjects had fled.  K-9 was used a deterrent.  Good control by k-9.

 

76)    narcotics search warrant by Cudahy officers on 05/29/09 @0053hrs:  Cudahy officers executed a drug search warrant at residence where subject was dealing crack cocaine.  Because of small apt., k-9 was not used in entry.  After entry, k-9 deployed inside suspects vehicle and alerted to front passenger seat.  Nothing located.  K-9 deployed off lead in apt.  And alerted to mattress.  Nothing located.  Officers conducted hand search and nothing located.

 

77)    On 06/01/09, St. Francis pd requested k-9 for execution of drug search warrant.  During entry, k-9 was used on perimeter.  Officers cleared first floor and also located a subject walking up from the basement.  After subject was taking into custody, k-9 deployed into basement.  Nobody located.  K-9 then used inside target residence and targets vehicle to locate narcotics.  Nothing located in the vehicle.  K-9 did alert to a lock box inside the residence.  Box contained a digital scale and plastic baggies containing 3 grams of marijuana and 4.3 grams of crack cocaine.  Great job by k-9.

 

78)    On 06/08/09, k-9 requested by other Cudahy officer on traffic stop.  Subject in vehicle known to possess narcotics.  K-9 made 3 passes around vehicle with no indication.

 

79)    On 06/13/09, this officer was advised by Milwaukee sheriff that they had several subjects rum from them in Sheridan park.  This officer spotted 2 subjects hiding behind a tree.  As this officer approached, k-9 given command to bark in hopes subjects would not flee again on foot.  Subjects did not flee and their body language showed they were affected by the k-9.

 

80)    On 06/22/09, this officer assisted with the transport of a resistive subject that was in custody.  Subject was fighting with officers and refused to exit the police transport van.  K-9 was deployed a commanded to bark while standing outside of the van.  Subject immediately exited van and was no longer a problem with officers.

 

81)    On 06/22/09, other Cudahy officers conducted stop of vehicle with 3 occupants that were acting suspiciously.  One subject in vehicle admitted he had marijuana in a backpack on the floor in the back seat.  All occupants asked to exit vehicle.  K-9 deployed off lead inside vehicle.  K-9 alerted to both front seats.  Nothing found.  K-9 also alerted to area where backpack had been.  K-9 also alerted to the backpack.  1 gram of marijuana was located in the backpack.

 

82)    On 07-01-09, request from sfpd for vehicle sniff from k-9.  Prior to deploying k-9, occupant was advised of k-9 conducting sniff.  Subject stated he had marijuana in the vehicle and his girlfriend was currently concealing it on her person.  Girlfriend produced 1 gram of marijuana.  K-9 was deployed inside vehicle and indicated on the front seats.  No other contraband located.

 

83)    On 07-04-09, Cudahy offices had contact with subject operating ice cream truck.  Subject was thought to be selling narcotics from the truck.  K-9 deployed inside truck.  No alert/indications from k-9.

 

84)    On 07-05-09, request from smpd for k-9 assistance in locating suicidal subject who fled from officers on foot.  Upon arrival, smpd officers located subject and k-9 was no longer needed.

 

85)    On 07-12-09, Cudahy officers responded to an open door at a local business.  No employees on scene.  Officers and k-9 approached building and shouted commands w/ no reply from inside.  K-9 deployed off lead w/ officers following.  Nobody located inside and open door appeared to be an oversight.  Great job by k-9 clearing rooms ahead of officers even with loud audible alarm sounding.

 

86)    On 07-12-09, request by other Cudahy officers for an exterior vehicle sniff.  Occupants asked to exit vehicle and k-9 deployed on lead.  3 passes made around the vehicle.  No alerts/indications from k-9.

 

87)    On 07-18-09, subject arrested by this officer for outstanding warrant.  Marijuana was located inside subject’s pants pocket.  K-9 deployed inside subject’s vehicle.  Indication from k-9 on subject’s drivers’ seat.  No other contraband located.

 

88)    On 07-18-09, this officer conducted traffic stop on vehicle.  Officer spoke to driver and advised driver k-9 was going to be deployed on exterior vehicle sniff.  Driver then stated he had marijuana in his glove box.  K-9 deployed inside vehicle and immediately indicated on glove box.  K-9 also indicated on center console.  49 grams of marijuana located in glove box.  Marijuana pipe located in center console.  Subject arrested and charged by district attorney’s office.

 

89)    On 07-19-09, officers responded to a report of subjects in a vehicle that displayed a firearm.  Vehicle and subjects quickly located and high risk stop conducted.  K-9 was brought out of squad car and commanded to bark as subjects were ordered out of vehicle.  K-9 behavior was well controlled yet very aggressive while he was barking at the subjects.

 

90)    On 07-19-09, request from other Cudahy officers for exterior vehicle sniff.  Vehicle was observed coming from a known drug activity apartment complex.  K-9 deployed on lead.  3 passes made around vehicle.  No alerts/indications from k-9.

 

91)    On 07-19-09, high risk stop with vehicle involved in armed robbery in South Milwaukee.  K-9 brought out of squad car and immediately began to bark at subjects as they were ordered out of vehicle.  K-9 had great focus and control during the situation.

 

92)    On 07-21-09, traffic stop by this officer in which driver was identified as gang member.  Subject advised k-9 was going to be deployed on exterior vehicle sniff.  Subject stated there was nothing in the car and officers could search the inside.  K-9 deployed inside vehicle and indicated on the speaker on the driver’s door.  Plastic baggie with 3 grams of marijuana located.  Subject arrested.

 

93)    On 08-10-09, this officer conducted traffic stop with vehicle.  Occupants asked to exit vehicle.  K-9 deployed on lead for exterior vehicle sniff.  3 passes made.  No alert/indication from k-9.

 

94)    On 08-10-09, traffic stop with vehicle after other Cudahy officers observed vehicle leaving known drug activity apartment.  Driver was taken into custody for driving offense.  Prior to vehicle being towed, k-9 deployed inside vehicle.  K-9 indicated on drivers seat and drivers floor.  Marijuana residue (floor dope) located.

 

95)    On 08-14-09, officers responded to open door at closed local business.  Announcement given and k-9 deployed off lead with officers following.  Nobody located inside.  K-9 did great job clearing individual rooms.

 

96)    On 08-23-09, this officer conducted traffic stop and driver was found to have warrants for his arrest.  Prior to vehicle being towed, k-9 deployed inside vehicle.  No alert/indication from k-9.

 

97)    On 08-26-09, officers responded to residence in which male subject had punched out a window and cut himself.  Male subject was to be holding a female hostage.  K-9 deployed on lead and used for perimeter.  As officers made contact with male subject, k-9 commanded to bark.  Subject taken into custody w/o incident.

 

98)    On 08-28-09, this officer conducting training at local storage locker.  During training, k-9 alerted 3 times to a specific locker.  Search warrant obtained.  Located inside locker was a large amount of shredded money used for packaging.  K-9 deployed inside locker and only indicated on the box containing the shredded money.

 

99)    On 08-31-09, this officer and Cudahy detectives conducting storage locker sniff at local business.  K-9 indicated 4 separate times on a specific storage locker.  Search warrant obtained.  Upon opening storage locker, k-9 deployed and indicated on handle of a toolbox and the gas cap on a generator.  No contraband located.  Subject who rented locker stated he is not involved in drugs but had an ex-girlfriend that used crack cocaine and used to come frequently to the locker.

 

100) On 09-03-09, request by sfpd for exterior vehicle sniff.  Occupants asked to exit vehicle and k-9 deployed on lead.  3 passes around vehicle conducted.  No alert/indication from  k-9.

 

101) On 09-04-09, request by other Cudahy officer for exterior vehicle sniff on traffic stop.  K-9 deployed on lead and 3 passes made.  No alerts/indications from k-9.

 

102) On 09-06-09, request from other Cudahy officers advising a dv suspect fled on foot into a wooded area and possibly has a gun.  This was at approximately 3:19aa.m.  As k-9 arrived, suspect observed walking across grass in front of apartment complex.  Officers and k-9 ran over to subject, giving him orders to lay on the ground.  Subject complied.  K-9 barked and guarded subject as he was taken into custody.

 

103) On 09-08-09, request from smpd for a track of attempted strong arm robbery suspects that fled along a bike trail in a park.  K-9 deployed on 30’ lead.  K-9 had strong odor but lost odor after approximately 75 yards.  Subjects possibly ran into the roadway, which had several vehicles drive through the area.  Subject not located.

 

104) On 09-09-09, drug search warrant executed by Cudahy officers in St. Francis.  K-9 was rear guard as officers made entry.  K-9 remained in doorway and barked and guarded as subjects were taken into custody.

 

105) On 09-11-09, request by smpd for k-9 sniff of a chest that was turned over to them.  The chest belonged to a subject that was in custody for a drug offense.  K-9 indicated on the chest and smpd obtained a search warrant.  Smpd advised they located drug paraphernalia inside.  (Pipes, bongs)

 

106) On 09-14-09, drug search warrant at Cudahy residence.  K-9 not used during the entry.  A marijuana grow was discovered in the basement.  K-9 did locate several marijuana pipes as well as 25 grams of marijuana in a bedroom.

 

107) On 09-15-09, request from other Cudahy officer for interior vehicle sniff.  K-9 deployed off lead and immediately picked up a bag of marijuana with his mouth.  K-9 dropped the bag and another bag was located (2 grams total).  K-9 alerted to and indicated on the backseat and trunk.  Strong odor of marijuana detected by officers in trunk.  Nothing else located.

 

108) On 09-16-09, request from other Cudahy officer for exterior vehicle sniff.  K-9 deployed on lead and 3 passes made.  No alerts/indications from k-9.

 

109) On 09-21-09, Cudahy police received a report of a suspect that was in possession of a knife and was just involved in a dv.  Subject was currently alone in his apartment.  Other tenants were evacuated and officers along with k-9 entered apt. Complex.  As officers gave orders to subject through the door, k-9 commanded to bark.  Subject exited and was guarded by k-9.  Subject arrested w/o incident.

 

110) On 09-23-09, report of a burglary at a local store.  Subject had made entry into the store but it was not known if subject was still inside.  K-9 deployed off lead as officers followed.  K-9 was a bit hesitant at first with slippery floors but soon overcame that.  K-9 did great job checking the store and appeared more confident as he did not remain close to this handler.  K-9’s obedience was great, even with the commotion and number of officers present.  No persons located inside. 

 

111) On 09-25-09, request by other Cudahy officer for exterior vehicle sniff on a vehicle in which other officer had knowledge that driver was in possession of narcotics.  Upon arrival at stop, other officer stated he had consent to search interior.  Other officer did safety search before k-9 deployed.  Other officer located 2 rocks of crack cocaine in center console.  K-9 deployed after vehicle made safe.  K-9 indicated on center console where narcotics were removed from.  No other contraband located.

 

112) On 09-29-09, request from other Cudahy officers for exterior vehicle sniff on a vehicle that was believed to have transported narcotics to a residence within the city.  K-9 deployed off lead and on second pass around vehicle, indicated on the drivers door seam by scratching.  Police detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for the vehicle and a subsequent search warrant for a residence in which 44 pounds of marijuana was located as well as a large amount of cash and a loaded firearm.
