Ms. Elaine Kneeous

Jennifer is a one in a million stay-at-home mom. (More like one OF a million stay at home moms!) She graduated from a liberal arts college but there is nothing liberal OR artsy about her. She is married to Kevin Fischer of This Just In, and together they have a beautiful young daughter Kyla Audrey. In no particular order she loves dogs, wine, a good bargain, her family, pizza, and entertaining. Follow her blog of all things miscellaneous including but not limited to cooking and baking, entertaining and party planning, being a mommy, and homekeeping.

When is a cat NOT a cat?

It goes without saying that Kyla loves all sorts of sweet, girly cartoon characters, including this one:

Last school year she had a Hello Kitty backpack.  She has PJ’s, coloring books, stickers, etc.  I don’t mind at all.  Kitty is a kind and gentle little creature and luckily for me, has a simple enough shape that even I can attempt to duplicate a sketch of her when asked to.

Kitty doesn’t have her own theme park but she sure does have her loyal fans.  Speaking of theme parks, Kyla also loves, above all, these two:

Our daughter is pretty sharp.  If we tried to convince her that the above-mentioned favorites were not, respectively, a cat and a pair of mice she’d promptly tell us we’re full of beans.

Today Hello Kitty’s fans were dealt a blow and reacted with a passion that I’m sure her creators never expected.  Apparently, we are to believe that Hello KITTY – I repeat KITTY – is not at all a cat.  Well how’s that for turning worlds upside down.

I’d say Sanrio has some serious damage control to start working on.
