Dear Franklin Neighbors:
Thank you for listening to my message of leadership focused on Franklin.
I’m running for mayor to help the Franklin community realize its’ great potential: wonderful people, profitable businesses, room to grow; excellent recreational facilities and a wonderful history.
My work for you has been well documented over the past 22 years. During my twelve years as alderman for the 1st and 2nd districts I’ve had the honor to work with many people on countless issues. Throughout my service I’ve tried to treat everyone with respect and dignity. I intend to continue that practice as mayor.
I’ve worked for you as a volunteer and as an alderman to balance our tax base, bring more business to the city and to secure high quality development. I have a goal to restart our economic development efforts for tax relief for the residential taxpayers and to provide more quality of life services.
My campaign has been about electing a mayor with skill and maturity who is focused on the city and has focus on future development. It’s been about my qualifications, experience and record.
I’m a successful businessman who sets goals, makes plans to achieve my goals and then focuses on exceeding them. I pledge to bring that focus to City Hall.
My constituents in the 1st and 2nd district have come to know that I’m responsive, attentive and accessible. That will continue as mayor. I work for YOU.
I’ve demonstrated strong fiscal restraint throughout the years, especially during our recent economic downturn. I believe that just because an item is “in the budget” does NOT mean it should automatically be spent. I know that the city budget is made up with YOUR hard earned tax dollars and they need to be spent wisely.
I ask for your support based on my actions and commitment to the city. Vote for Olson tomorrow (Tuesday).
