It seems like so many food items have devoted, die-hard, passionate fans. There really aren’t any mainstream eats that I’d crawl on my knees through a desert for. I’m not addicted to Starbucks; if every McDonald’s closed tomorrow I’d survive; I drink Diet Coke only out of pure necessity if that is literally the only thing offered to me as a beverage.
I know I’m in the minority on this one but I have another confession: while I like them, I don’t react like Pavlov’s dogs to one of these:
If you identified the above pastry treat as “not just any cinnamon roll, but one from…” insert breathless swooning as you utter…
…well you’d be correct. If you can’t get enough of that secret cinnamon & yeast recipe that’s as closely guarded as Col. Sanders 11 herbs & spices, you might also succumb to grocery store items of theirs such as cereal, coffee creamer, or in-the-can DIY rolls.
So here’s some good news, in the midst of holiday revelry: If you’re over 21 you can enjoy Cinnabon’s signature sweetness in a whole new way:
Oh, no, I’m NOT kidding.
Now you’re talkin’. I’m always up to try a new flavored vodka if it’s a sweet kind. Sorry, no BLT or pizza-flavored spirits for this gal. Personally I wouldn’t mix it with too much because I’d want the flavor of “THE roll” to shine through. Perhaps I would try it with Half and Half, in a nod to a White Russian. Maybe even straight up as suggested in the above article.
Adding an adult, “after 5:00” offering to a line of already successful Cinnabon products? Seems to me Pinnacle has found a wonderful Culinary Yes Yes!
CULINARY YES YES BONUS
Personally I’d never go to anyone’s home empty-handed. If asking the question “what can I bring?” makes you tremble with fear, worry no more.
A delicious nod to my own Polish heritage. I must admit, I’ve never made them because of the labor-intensive process described here.
