Family lured Jerrianne and her husband to South Milwaukee in 2002 from Southern California where she worked as, first, a journalist, then, as a court information officer. She now stays busy with media-relations consulting, playing with her three grandchildren (part of the lure), writing, discovering her new environs, and hoping her garden will produce before the first fall frost.
South Milwaukee's own terrific Celtic band has returned from summer doings and send this list of upcoming performances:
The Garlic Mustard Pickers have three upcoming gigs in September.
Thursday Sept 12
Location: South Milwaukee Farmer's Market (at 11th St and Milwaukee Avenue)
Performance time: 5 to 6:30 pm
Saturday Sept 14
Location: LaFollette Park in West Allis
(Two blocks north of Greenfield Ave on 92nd St, conveniently close to the I-894/Greenfield Ave interchange)
Performance time: 4:00-6:30 pm
This is a barbeque picnic, sponsored by the Friends of LaFollette Park. Cost per adult to cover food is approximately $10.
It's always a great time.
Saturday Sept 21
Location: Paddy's Pub (2339 North Murray in Milwaukee, 1 block north of the Oriental Theater)
Performance time: 8:30-11:30
Paddy's is an outstanding Irish pub. Great decor, and a long-standing commitment to supporting Trad music.
Our band will either be outside on the patio, or else upstairs, depending on the weather.
We hope to see you at one of these gigs!
