There will not be a police liaison officer walking the halls of St. Francis High School this fall. Despite the city's offer to pay half the $70,000 cost of an officer for the 2008-09 school year, St. Francis School District officials said their portion of the bill would be too expensive.

Historical society holding potluck Date: Monday, May 12
The South Milwaukee Historical Society is holding a potluck, with anyone interested in the society invited to attend if they bring a dish to pass, at 5:30 p.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1111 N. Chicago Ave. For information, call (414) 764-2118.
